Changes

We realised our footage wasn't going to cut together our work so far could not have been submitted. Having spent a lot of time on this we all felt dissapointed but wanted to achieve the best grade possible therefore we quickly decided that we needed to change our idea. Having spent some time on our footage we wanted to incorporate what we had done so far into our final production, this led us to come up with an idea that will enable us to do this. Our idea for our new film is using the previously filmed footage a film maker will be shown editing our footage  a new slasher movie called ‘The Confusion’. She is alone in an edit suite with only the spooky footage for company. Soon the lines between fiction and reality are blurred as events in real life begin mimicking the footage of the film.

Overcoming our Problems

Once we captured our footage we realised that it was not the standard we were looking for, we also made a few mistakes with using the sound recorder which we were able to over come this problem and decided to shoot most of it again on our second day of filming and hopefully we will get all the shots we want to film done on this day.

First Day of Filming

On Monday 18th October we started filming. This went quite well although we had a few problems setting up, we managed to over come these and was able to film as much as we could in 2 hours. When we were filming we had to shoot a scene with a dog and had to rehearse the shot a couple of times to get the dog to do what we wanted it to do. Once we rehearsed we felt that the dog was able to do what we wanted it to do so we were able to start filming. We had to do a number of different shots as working with the dog was more difficult then we first thought, in the end the dog cooperated with us and we got the shot we wanted. We feel that the filming went well as the actress was happy with her performance and the camera woman was happy with the positioning and the director was happy with the over all performance. Today we are capturing the audio and video footage onto the computer making sure it is all there and saved in the right area.

Project Brief

As a group we have been asked to complete a portfolio.

We had a choice of four portfolios one was a short film the second one was an extract from a new documentary the third one was a promotion package for a new film and the fourth one was a promotion package for the release of an album. As a group we decided to choose a short film the brief was:

A short film in its entirety, lasting approximately five minutes, which may be live action or animated or a combination of both, together with the following:

• A poster for the film.
• A film magazine review page featuring the film.

We have also been asked to make a group presentation of the evaluation which is going to be set up on this blog, and as individuals we have to complete a 500 word analysis of our role in production.
